@ Hi Cobain,

Welcome to PCHF. Thank you for helping. However, it is usually not a good idea to assume when troubleshooting hardware or software. In this case, BD should check the RAM he has both to see if it is all functional, and to determine what the capacity of his MOBO is, as one of the troubleshooting steps.

@BD, can you please download and run Belarc from my signature, and post the stats on your PC back here? Thanks. I do however think that ruling out malware is a good idea, and you should follow my previous instructions.

the way he described it sound exactly like my current situation reduced my ram from 1 gb to 512 until i get a new mobo because of the same problem:icon_scra

:smiley: Yeah, there are lots of potentially guilty pieces. You just need to remember that it may or may not be the same situation as with your computer.

Glad to hear that you were able to identify the problem with yours tho. Before installing RAM, it is always a good idea to determine the manufacterers max out limit.
