Unhappy [Fixed] why does my pc reboot

hi i am using a usb2 pci card as my pcs usb ports do not work. recently my pc has suddenly started rebooting when i insert a usb device or after ive finished using the device, when it reboots it freeezes for a few seconds after detecting the ide devices then it makes a slight clicking noise and then loads up windows xp. windows says that it recovered from a serious error and logs thes files: C:\DOCUME~1\Kibria\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERf610.dir00\Min i121005-03.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\Kibria\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERf610.dir00\sys data.xml
sometimes this also occurs when i try and shut down windows. most of the time it works fine but suddenly starts to happen. can you tell me what is causing this as i do not know.
my specs are
p4 2.8ghz 8 mhz fsb 512kb cache ht
asus p4 s800 sis 648fx motherboard
2x 512mb crucial pc 27000 ram
seagate 12gb hd
128mb fx 5200 agp
dvd-rw
cd-rw

I would first try reinstalling/updating the drivers for the pci card. And what is the problem with the original usb ports? Maybe its just a driver issue.

Have a look in youre device manager and look for anything with an question mark or exclamation point in front of them.

my motherboards usb ports dont work they are picked up by windows but just do not work ive tried two different usb 2 pci cards i get the same problem

my usb 2 pci doesnt not require a driver for windows xp it says i need service pack 1 for usb 2 to work thats all.

does any one have any idea what the problem is ?

Ok, so you're pretty comfortable with going into the case, right? Let's look at why your other USB ports aren't working. Can you trace the connection from the external port to the motherboard? Is there anything obvious there?
