Default Helping my dad build a PC

Ok, my dad wants to build a new PC, and i have said that i would help him

Can anyone reccomend good componants? He only wants to spend upto ?500. This is to be used for gaming. Oh and we need to also include Windows XP Home with this as well.

well Id say: buy a AMD 64 3000+ or something like that, a simple ASUS mobo, 512/1gig ram, a 200gig hdd (its affordable these days) and a PCI vidcard...

if thats above youre prince range, you could consider the AMD Sempron 64 bit version.... it runs much slower, but its much cheaper.....

not sure about the prices in england though.....

is he going to need a case power supply and cd rom etc..

Your best bet is to buy a motherboard and cpu combo deal. Asus has some good deals.
