I thought top performance was just another Auto Overclock option... but im not shur if another window opens up and gives you more selections... ill have to check that out next time i set it up... which should be in a couple days right after my 6800GS arives... I dont think there are any other options in there though...

and if not, there must be a way right? if that guy with the K8NS did it... maybe theres software utilitys i dotn know about that can do it?

Yes, top performance is an overclock option but because the mobo only goes to 333 mhz ram, as you say, you need to 'overclock'. There are some tweak utility's available on the site of the manufacturer you can try to take a loot at those. As the other guy got it working why shouldn't you get it to work right?

I c what i left out of my first post.... just so your not confused...

My original question not posted on this forum was conserning a ram limitation with s754 in my Mobo book it states...

"Because of CPU Limitations, if you want to install DDR400 memory modules in your system, please install either one double-sided or two single-sided DDR400 memory modules. The DDR400 speed will drop down to DDR333 if you install two double-sided or three single-sided DDR400 memory modules."

So as you can see, it runs DDR400.. just not with 2 Double-sided Dimms.. But i was considering putting 2GBs onto the mobo, and didnt wont to limit myself in size or type of ram because its a budget system, so iv been pre-emtivly searching for a workaround.

Ill check it out but im not confident in the likes of this "Top Performance" option.

Thx for your replys.

Ah this clears things up a little, now I see what you're talking about. But why do you need 2gb of ram? Installing that ammount of ram is only usefull if you use your computer for extremely heavy calculations such as the gaphics video or audioindustry (not for home-use, but semiprofessional or fully professional).
when you want to get the max out of your system don't look at the ammount of ram and the speed, but a lot of more things are involved such as the other hardware, cpu, mobo, chipset of the mobo etc.

Well, i wasnt ruling out 2GBs of ram.... my plan is to search for good deals on ram over this upcominig holiday season...

So what i was planning if possible was to either use... 1GB of Low latency ram, or 2GB's of Value ram.

Over the past few months i was able to get 2GBs of pc2700(2x1GB) for $72. So i did not wont to rule out 2GBs of pc3200 Value ram.

Thx for your help thus far.

Ah o.k. I see, nice deal you've got there, good prices :-)
If things don't work out the way they should, or you need more assistance on this topic, i'll be glad to help.
Good luck

Update:

my 6800GS arrived so i setup the system again and tested it... I updated the BIOS and it did add Manual ram settings along with other options as well, like manual cpu fans speed options etc.

problem solved.
