Default Cancorder to PC lead

I have a Samsung camcorder and I would like to transfer my 8mm tapes to CD via my PC, I do not know if this is possible but if it is I would need a lead to go from camcorder to PC, the camcorder has AV out and DC in, so one end would need to fit that shape, other end USB to connect to PC.:hello2:

Hi Ivy,

First, FYI, I am going to move this to a more suitable forum.

Second, can you post the make and model of your camcorder, and also if you have usb 1 or 2? Thanks

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

Hi there Ivy!

I think this one isn't possible. You'll need to have an extra card in your computer with connections that let you connect your camcorder to your computer, and make it possible to record the video, using software like Pinnacle etc. There are newer camera's that work via FireWire and USB2.0, but when you're saying it only has AV out this is not an option.

Hi Bluefish,

I think what you mean is that it may be possible, but it will require additional hardware.

Actually, the hardware required can be found reasonably inexpensively, but Ivy is probably not going to be able to use a USB connection to do it.
