Default [Fixed] floppy install problems

I have a new PC and just got a new floppy for it...its a Sony 3.5 1.44MB...after install was complete light on front of floppy came on and stays on...when I insert a disk...it says insert disk ?...I looked in BIOS and under floppy it had listed what I have...under device manager...I have a floppy drive controller and my floppy listed...drivers are there...says working properly... I went to windows update nothing listed under custom...this is the second floppy Ive tried with same results....Any Ideas ?

If you have installed it into your PC then it could be that the FD cable (the flat one) is inserted the wrong way around. Try it the other way up.
