Default [Information/Pending] help!!!

ok so i have a problem..
i re formatted my computer because it wasnt like working at all,
and, i used a system restore disk to reformat it.
ok i had XP but now i have windows ME..
and everytime i turn it on , this comes up:

"While initializing device IOS. Error: An I/O subsystem driver failed to load. Either a file in the .\iosubsys subdirectory is corrupt or the system is low on memory. System halted. "

and, it wont let me even go into safe mode because the error will come back up. even if i have a startup disk in.. its so messed up
and ive looked through the pages at mircosoft.com and they dont help me really, and the file thats named "iosubsys" is missing.

anyone help?/

Welcome to PCHF

You could try this:

Hold down CTRL while restarting the computer.

From the Startup menu, select Safe Mode and press ENTER.

Click the Start button, Run, type msconfig, and click OK.

In the General tab, click Advanced, Limit Memory To, then increase the amount of RAM.

If you unselect the box entirely, Windows will use all available memory.

Howdy And welcome to Pchelp Forum's

Your problem may be due to lack of vmemory.. try below and see if this help's

1 Start the PC in Safe Mode.
2 Click on Start and choose Run. Type in Sysedit and click on Ok.
3 Open c:\windows\system.ini window.
4 Click on Search, choose Find, type in VCACHE and click on Next.
5 Add the following line to the [VCACHE] section : MAXFILECACHE=6144.
6 Save the file and Restart the pc.

EDIT? :-P? or you can do as above.. Beat me Hengis

Also do you happen to have Bonzi-BUDDY installed?

and if your IOSubsys.sub file is really corrupt you will have to either do another repair or reinstall, no way around that!

i dont have bonzi buddy installed
i think the file is like deleted... i dont know why

it wont let me go into safe mode or normal mode,
the only thing that works is the command prompt thingy...

like i did the hold ctrl thing and tryed to go into safe mode,
but it wont let me... it will just restart and the error comes up...

and then tryed to reinstall and restore the computer again,
still doesnt work...

so i think the file is corrupt... and i have no idea how to fix it.
because it wont let me actually go into the computer to like go to start and run and stuff......

it sucks. right now im on a differ computer soo yeah

well if anyone knows anything else
helppppp.

!
