I recently built a PC: on the BIOS screen I am being shown two messages: 'CMOS settings wrong' and 'CMOS memory size wrong'. Also I think because of this I can't boot windows from the CD rom. WHAT do these messages mean?!

The best thing to do it boot into your BIOS by pressing the appropriate key. Usually the delete key, F1, F2 or F10. Once you are into the BIOS move over to the "Load BIOS defaults" or something similar and press enter.

This should reset your BIOS settings to factory default, then you can go through the boot menu and change the settings to boot from CD-ROM first.

Save changes and exit the BIOS.

it normaly asks you to press f1 or something to procede and it will keep working normally, reset to the defaults by taking the bios battery out and replacing it, to but from the cd you have to change the boot sequence.
