Default any thoughts?

Hello to all the members here at pch! I recenly brought a new pc and made a mistake of chosing the A1020n hp privilion based on a web poll. So anyway i really liked it at first i mean it was a Pentium(R)4 3.06ghz 512 mb of RAM. The lightscribe is cool to edit burned images to cd and my16x duel layer dvd burner is quick for now. I only thought i wanted a pc to just surf in internet and burn music and etc., so this was a great pick in my eyes until just recenly! I have been seeing some next generation PC games i'd like to play that require a decent video card right. So i almost drive to bestbuy to buy a Ati video card but had an urge to crack my pc open to see whats under the hood first so i did. My feelings were hurt when i seen no AGP slot! all because it has intergrated graphics why do they make those things oh yea money it's cheaper. i'm not sharpest tool but i love to learn and determined to buy a new motherboard and install it myself so i don't have to pay someone too. I can still use my pentium4 cpu from my current board and transplant it into the new board right? if someone could give me some helpful point i would love to here from you thanks Octagon!

ya hp's you can put a new motherboard in ther. But need to know what chipset your cpu is. download everest and post the quick test back here

you can download everest http://www.lavalys.hu/downloads/everesthome201.exe

Welcome to pchelp forums

Edit: But the problem is going to be with the backup partition... And backup disc's.. You wont be able to intall XP unless you buy a retail or OEM version from somwhere like newegg. So u will have a new motherboard with a pci express or agp slot but no operating system
