Joe5

did the precleaning that you suggested and reran the hijack this (file attached)

I didn't have a folder labeled prefetch?

Also, and I should have mentioned this before, I use Firefox as my browser rather than internet explorer. But I am very anal about deleting all cookies and files on at least a weekly basis.

Thanks again

Oh yeah... where exactly is the "heat sink"

I don't see anymore problems in youre log and a heatsink will look something like this: (on youre motherboard , ontop of youre processor)

What size is your power supply? And what all do you have connected to it?

To tell the temps easily download this program and run it and it will tell you if your pc is burning up or not

The Power supply is 550 watts and it came with the case (i.e., I think it is only connected to the motherboard)

The speed fan program reads

Temp 1 38C

Temp 2 83C

HD0 49C
Temp 1 82C

Fan1 4787 RPM

Fan 2 0 RPM

Does this mean I need new fans? The machine never feels physically very hot

ok the power supply is big enough. The temps are ok if it does not feel pshysically hot. It is alway good to have at least 2 fans in a case theough. One blowing air in and one pushing air out. Could be the ram going out.

And let it test ofr a half hour see if it comes up with any error's

And download cleanup in my sig and run it.

the 83c is point to remote, which is never right on speed fan,Dont know why they have not fixed it yet, as for the other, could be his hard drive but he said nothing is hot to the touch?
