I did what you said, & since it wont let me see any visuals with the video card out, the only things I ccan check are the ABCD lights, & that is readin YGYG, which means theres no VideoCard...& when I put the video card in, I get GGYY... so Im not sure what it is..& I dont think its my ram.

Alright I thought you might have an onboard video card as well.

Plug your AGP card back in but make sure you have everything else disconnected as I explained before, then boot up your computer.

You wont be able to boot into windows because you hard drive is disconnected, we just want to make sure that the other components are not causing any problems with your system.

See if you still get the "pnp5 checkpoint error"

Yea, I'm still getting that PnP5 error, & its saying it cant read the rest of the stuff of course..I think my head is going to explode soon. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: ....emoticons....

Is the "PnP5 error" being displayed on the screen or is that what you are getting from the "ABCD lights"?

If it is being displayed on the screen could you give us the exact error, or is that all it says.

That's all it says in my screen, & I've already called Dell & they didn't help.

Alright would you be able to post your "Service Tag" and "Product Model" on the forums.

Its sound like there is a problem with the device that is plugged into PnP5.

Do you currently have anything plugged into the PCI slots?

EDIT : Sounds like it is pointing to a PCI problem. Pull the cards out to verify if the error goes away, then reseat the cards one by one, this should either solve the problem or point out the problem card

I have done that with the PCI cards before & it didn't spot anything specific.? The cards that are in my PC are an AGP Nvidia FX 5200 Video Card, a PCI 56k modem, & a PCI FireWire card (I bought for digital video):

All 3 Cards ------------------- GGYY
No FireWire ------------------ GGYY
No 56k ------------------------- GGYY
No Video Card ----------------YGYG
No Video card or 56k ------- YGYG
No Video card or FireWire - YGYG
No Cards ---------------------- YGYG
All 3 Cards Back In ---------? GGYY

GGYY is what it has been saying, & YGYG is what it says when there is no Video Card.? I have done this before & it still didn't do anything.? I will put my service tag & product model on here..
