No it will reset your BIOS.. you will just have to reset the time on it. Sometimes there can be error's in there and things can go wrong so somtimes you have to reset it. I wouldnt give you any advice that would ruin anything. Everything will be ok.

Edit: Did they send you new IDE cables with the motherboard? Since you said your friend's hard drive didnt work either, Maybe could be the IDE cable?

No, they didn't send me any cables, but I dont think that would be the problem since it doesn't even boot up the setup or bios or anything. But I'll try to reset the BIOS..maybe that will work.

Alright, I was checking all the cables out 7 while doing I smelt something burning, & it was coming from the huge heatsink.? So I took that off & took out the CPu & buned my hands in the process.? The CPU looks fine which is werid because I thought it might have been burnt or something.? Do you think the CPU might have anything to do with it?

If the CPU has overheated then it is possible that it is damaged, but in the past I have had CPU's overheat and they continue to work.

Put everything back in and make sure that the CPU fan works 100%, then try and boot into the BIOS and see whether you can configure the hard drives.

OK try the following:

Disconnect everything from the motherboard including Hard drives/IDE cables/ CDROMS/ FLOPPY disk drive.

You only want the basics connected, if your machine has an onboard video card then disconnect your AGP card.

All you want connected is the power supply (graphics card - be it onboard or not).

Then try and start your computer and see whether you get the same error, if you do then you know it is a problem either with the motherboard or Memory sticks.

You could try swap the RAM out from your friends machine, but be careful they are very "Static sensitive" so would be a good idea to have your friends machine close by so you don't have far to carry the RAM.. make sure your power cable is disconnected when you install the ram.
