So you build this pc and put a HD in it with winXP already installed from a previous build? Even with the same model mobo and the same components that could cause problems , a repair install might get it going again.

No you misunderstood me.

Clean install the system hangs.

If I use another motherboard and install Windows on a hard-drive and then take that hard drive to the motherboard that hangs, everything is fine...

If WIndows runs on the board why won't it install???

Ah , i see what you mean.

Then i dont know , the board seems to be working then , and you use the same components with the other mobo when installing windows so it can't be them either...

That is pretty strange..sorry ,i don't have an awnser for you.

Could you try and swap your RAM from the working machine to this machine an then try to re-install windows.

Also make sure all your fans are working.

Might be best to boot into the BIOS and reset the default settings.
