heys guys,
I have an Asus A7N8X v2.0 Deluxe. I recently bought an amd athlon xp 3200+ for it and installed it. Now it keeps cutting off. gives me a blue screen, "if this is the first time uve seen this then blah blah, if u have installed a new piece of hardware ur bios might need updated etc"
just wondering how i would backup update the bios

I know what screen you are talking about. Somtimes you can get that message by error. I would say update them just in case. If that doesnt work, you could just reformat and see how that does. Make sure you back-up all important files before updating, and if you choose to reformat, back-up those too. Good Luck

Just a tip: It is a bad idea to upgrade the processor on a motherboard, too much risk of incompatibility issues, which it may very well be here.

i bought everything seperatly and built the pc, and its the first time ive updated the cpu. dont know why it should be a problem, but the bios drivers are the first drivers that came with the mb and has never been updated.

You can find the BIOS for your motherboard on this site, search under motherboard and then Socket A(462): http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us Normally when you upgrade your BIOS it will give you the option to save your current BIOS to a file. (backup)
