All other Hardware - [FIXED] - "No Emulation" posted in the Hardware forums; i wanted to reformat? my hd.. it is installed with win98.. and when it boots... it goes directly to c:\? .. so i decided to reformat it with win xp ...

Default [FIXED] - "No Emulation"

i wanted to reformat? my hd.. it is installed with win98.. and when it boots... it goes directly to c:\? .. so i decided to reformat it with win xp but.. when i run my bootable win xp installer.. it says "No Emulation"? ... and another thing.. i cant locate my cd drive... but if ur going to check the BIOS cd rom is intalled.. but if ur going to type d: in the command prompt ..? its not their... any help?

Best thing to do would be to set the First boot option in the bios to BOOT from CD.

Put the XP cd-rom into your drive and boot your machine, it should give you the option to boot off CD.
Once it has booted you can choose to partition your drives / format and install windows
