PC Help Forum.com - New User Posting Guide
If you are new to PC Help Forum (PCHF) or even forums in general, sometimes using the website can seem daunting and may even deter you from getting involved in the Community. Don't worry, this guide will help you find your way around the site and get you posting and replying in no time!
To get the full benefit from PC Help Forum (PCHF) you will need to register and become a Member of our fast growing membership-base: www.pchelpforum.com/register.php. You will be unable to start a new topic or join in with another discussion until you have registered with us.
Before you decide to post a new question asking for help with a particular problem, always SEARCH first. Your problem may have already been solved!
How do I ask a question or post a New Topic?
Ok, the first thing you need to do is to find the right category for your New Topic. Use the dropdown menus at the top of the page to find the section that matches the general area of your problem or question.
For example - if I had a
problem with my CD Rom drive I would click here:

Once you have clicked on your general
topic area, you will see a new screen (below). You need to look for the New
Topic button:
Once you have clicked this button, you will be taken to the New Topic screen. This screen will allow you to type in your problem or question, attach images and files, add smilies, quote other members, add polls and many other useful functions that will help you get the maximum effect when asking for help. See this FAQ for further desciption of the functions available in this screen: http://www.pchelpforum.com/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post.
How do I reply to another Topic?
You're reading a topic that another Member has posted and you want to add your own comment to the discussion....no problem!
Look at the box with the comment
you would like to reply to, you will see a number of buttons towards the bottom
right corner of the box:

If you would like to make a quick
reply, without adding files, images or any other type of posting enhancement,
just click on the "Quick Reply" button. As soon as you click this
you will be taken down the page to the "Quick Reply" box:

Simply type your message in the box and press "Post Quick Reply" - your post will be added to the discussion as the last message posted.
If you need to post a more detailed
reply, including a file or image maybe, look for the "Post Reply" button,
or press the "Go Advanced" button underneath the "Quick Reply"
box.: If you would like to be kept informed about either replies to your topic or
another topic then all you need to do is "Subscribe": Select your method of notification.
