Firefox 3.6 Beta 1 released
By: CompuZap | Posted 11.1. 2009It’s here, the first beta of Firefox 3.6 (codename Namoroka) has been let loose upon the web by Mozilla and is ready to be tested out. Based on the Gecko 1.9.2 rendering engine this fresh foxxy release comes with the following:
- Improved JavaScript performance, overall browser responsiveness and startup time.
- Support for new CSS, DOM and HTML5 web technologies.
- Support for WOFF (Web Open Font Format).
- The ability to change the browser’s appearance with a single click, with built in support for Personas.
- Firefox 3.6 will alert users about out of date plugins to keep them safe.
- Open, native video can now be displayed full screen, and supports poster frames.
Firefox 3.6 beta 1 can be downloaded via this page for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux (in 53 languages).
