Facebook tops 250 million users
By: PCHF | Posted 07.16. 2009It was just back in April when Facebook proudly announced having 200 million members, and today the social network has reached the 250 million milestone.
The rapid and continuous pace at which Facebook is growing has been confirmed earlier this week when Digital Sky Technologies paid $14.77 per share for Facebook common stock, valuing it at a about $6.5 billion.
“Each person who joins makes Facebook better by adding a presence to the site that friends and family can connect with and feel closer to,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder, President and CEO. “For us, growing to 250 million users isn’t just an impressive number; it is a mark of how many personal connections all of you have made, and how far we at Facebook have to go to extend the power of connection to the billions of people around the world.”
At this rate, Facebook should be celebrating 300 million users by the end of this year and put MySpace to shame even more. Now all it needs is to go public and make a profit.
