Firefox 3.5 passes 5 million downloads
By: CompuZap | Posted 07.1. 2009Red hot Foxxy 3 point 5 is one popular browser as Mozilla’s own counter has recorded over 5 million downloads in just over 24 hours since release.
The figure may not be as impressive as the Guinness World Record-included 8 million download seen in the first 24 hours of Firefox 3.0’s life but this time Mozilla didn’t launch any massive promotion campaign.
Truth be told, Firefox 3.5 shouldn’t need too much marketing as it comes with a lot of updates that will surely appeal to older Firefox users and those using other browsers (especially IE). First up, the new Foxxy One includes the TraceMonkey JavaScript engine enabling better performance, and it also features a Private Browsing Mode, HTML 5 support, geolocation, and more.
