Indentify a “Unknown Device”
By: PCHF | Posted 05.4. 2009You do not need any kind of software to identify those elusive devices
behind the yellow exclamation marks. You can very easily do it yourself:
All you need is…Windows!
Go to Device Manager and click on the Device you want to identify:
Right click on the device, and go to Properties, Details, and select Hardware ids from the dropdown.
Write down the 4 characters after VEN_(here is 10EC) and after DEV_(here is 0888)

Go to PCI Vendor and Device Lists and enter the information there, then click on SEARCH (eithe one will do).

Click on the device (shown here as Realtek Semiconductor)

From the list select the DEV_ you had (shown here as 0888)
