Delete unwanted items from Add/Remove Programs
By: MadMonkey | Posted 05.2. 2009You may wish to delete items from Add/Remove Programs for a number of reasons, for example, if you needed to delete the software from the disk manually and/or there was something wrong with the uninstaller. In some cases, the uninstaller simply forgot to remove the entry from Add/Remove Programs! Whatever the reason, here’s how to delete it manually…
Warning: If you do not know much about windows registry please do not attempt without asking question’s first. Make a backup by clicking on Start, Run, type in regedit. Right click on the key you would like to change, then Export and save to a folder such as your “My Documents” folder.
Go to Start, Run, and type in regedit
Navigate to the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall
Under the key “Uninstall”, right click and Delete any unwanted subkeys.
There are also software apps that perform the same task, such as Tweak XP.
